What is the Liturgical Year?
The liturgical year, or church year, is a cycle of liturgical seasons in the Christian Church that determines when feasts, holidays and saint’s days are observed. (Liturgy: the formula of worship within the church.) There are specific colors associated with the Liturgical seasons, which are broken down into the following categories
- Advent (purple)
- Christmas (white)
- Ordinary Time (green)
- Lent (purple)
- Paschal Triduum (white)
- Easter (white)
